Reviews say many good and bad things. You just need to know why you buy this guitar. My purpose is to give my 2 year old son his own guitar so he would stop wanting mine. He had other guitar "toys" and they didn't only look and sound bad; he could tell they were not real. This is a real guitar in 1/2 size. It finishes, color, etc look good. It is just like daddy's classical guitar! It tunes good for a new guitar. Of course, strings are new so it doesn't hold too long. But my son and I don't mind it goes out of tune after a while. I am sure it will be a good guitar for him to start learning and then I'll buy him a better one. I am familiar with the brand, and thought it worth a try. This is the first guitar in this price range that I have seen that actually can be played. Is it a great guitar? no. Is it a well-made fine instrument. No. I think it would be unrealistic to expect that of a guitar that costs so little. But it can be tuned and will stay in tune long enough to play a couple of songs, and it can be played and it sounds OK. You can get better instruments for a little more $$$, but if your budget is limited this is a good starter instrument. If your child sticks with it, definitely plan to get something better. About the gig bag...definitely plan to replace it. It isn't padded at all, so it is OK to keep dust off, but it will not protect the guitar from bumps as it goes from house to car and back again. |
